WAHM Business: Pinterest vs. Youtube -- Which is better at getting you leads for your direct sales party plan business?
Here's the story:
Sure you know them, but taking a look deeper can show you how to make them work for you! First you have to understand what these platform are for and how they really work.
Youtube
PROS: Very interactive! Great for those who like to talk, be on camera and show how to do something. Perfect medium for engaging people quickly.
CONS: A hungry audience can lose interest quickly if you don't put out consistent content. Feeding the beast is a lot of work.
Pinterest: great at getting traffic and showing your products visually. Best for those who don't want to have to do their hair and makeup to get on camera.
CONS: Takes a few more steps to engage people, but it's growing quickly. Must have good photos and be able to capture and audience in a few words to get interest in your pins.
So...which is best for you?
Either is a TRAFFIC platform meaning they are specifically for driving viewers and traffic to YOU.
Twitter doesn't do that.
Facebook prefers you stay on their site vs. going off-site--not great for driving off-site traffic.
Snapchat is way too brief to engage anything.
Modern marketers and networkers are using both Youtube and Pinterest to drive traffic, sales, recruits to them.

Personally, I like both platforms, but I will tell you that Pinterest brings in more leads for me. I don't like constantly having to do videos. I do sometimes when i fee there is a good reason, but they are a lot of work to do (for me).
Pinterest I can sit down and knock out several pins plus a good article and drive traffic in about an hour. It's easy...no hair and makeup required!
I created a board about a month ago and worked on it for about a week. It started to grow and bring interest.
Since then I haven't touched it in about a week and it's already at over 10K views a month. I'm working on followers...under 100 right now.
But "followers" is different on Pinterest.
Sure they are good to have, like subscribers on Youtube, but views is really what you want, since most people will click on things that catch their interest without having to sit through a video. It's fast traffic.
MORE VIEWS = MORE CLICKS = MORE TRAFFIC
However, you've engaged more on Youtube so a click-thru is more likely REALLY interested vs. a quck click on Pinterest.
Or, is it?
